The Remains of Nothing
Size: 230*150*200cm
Year: 2025
Material: Plaster, silicone, motors, sensors, Arduino, metal

The Remains of Nothing explores a state of in-betweenness. The figures resemble parts of the human body but remain unfamiliar and fragmented. Referencing both mechanical imitation and the idea of a mythical body, they appear sacred, haunted, and incomplete. They seem like relics from a forgotten story or a dream. Their gestures are not whole, but they persist in moving. Through these strange and repetitive actions, the work evokes the eerie discomfort of the uncanny valley. In this space of in-betweenness, the self is not lost but divided, multiplied, and unsettled.

Alive

Size: 230*150*260cm
Year: 2021
Material: Metal, mechanical devices, silicone, wax

"If I break through the Iron Curtain, please do not take away my freedom; the unknown fades away as if we had never existed. "

Through kinetic sculpture and mechanical movement, the work explores the body as a site of tension between autonomy and external control. Repetitive movement creates a continuous sense of restraint, suggesting a body shaped by forces beyond its own agency. The work reflects on the fragile relationship between the individual and the systems that govern contemporary life.

Mayfly

Size: 300cm*200cm*180cm
Year: 2024
Material: Acrylic, water, metal, human figure model, water pump, timer

Mayfly explores a speculative social operating system and the collective emotions it produces. Transparent acrylic structures filled with flowing water contain fired plastic toy figures and embedded screens displaying fragments of everyday life. By connecting personal memories with circulating flows, the work reflects on the invisible emotional currents that shape contemporary social experience.

The Blue Hummingbird

Size: 60 × 60 × 100 cm
Year: 2022
Materials: Silicone, video, mechanical devices, plastic

Inspired by Simone de Beauvoir’s The Second Sex, the work explores women’s position and condition within society. The blue hummingbird symbolises female strength and freedom. A hidden screen plays a video of the artist filming her own throat while speaking, creating a sense of tension between voice, body, and expression.

Uncanny Apparitions

Year: 2025

An AI-generated portrait series composed entirely from non-human imagery, exploring the uncanny valley through machine perception. Using visual information from animals and animal skulls, a generative system creates human-like portraits without referencing any real human face. They create a sense of unease and raise simple but persistent questions: Is this human? What do we recognise when nothing was ever real? Do these faces reflect how a machine sees us, or how we imagine ourselves through the machine?
